Sheffield Wednesday are the oldest side in the Championship currently, averaging 28.1 years of age for the 22 players they have used this campaign.
No player under the age of 23 has even been utilised in the league yet this season.
But that hasn’t stopped their promising academy stars from impressing when given the platform as just this week striker Preslav Borukov caught the attention of many fans at Hillsborough with a winning goal against local rivals Sheffield United.
Football FanCast have already tipped him to be Atdhe Nuhiu’s replacement this summer, but it appears some want to see him given an opportunity sooner.

It is safe to say that his winner for the U23s has sparked a significant reaction.
One supporter claimed he could be the next David Hirst while another wanted him promoted to the first team so that he could learn off a player like their top goalscorer Steven Fletcher.
A further member of the Owls faithful ripped into Jordan Rhodes, calling him a waste of a shirt, so a player like Borukov should be introduced slowly instead.
