Reacting to sublime archive footage of Leeds United legend Johnny Giles, many Whites fans have been purring over their former midfielder during his hay day – describing him as ‘world-class’ and hailing his footage as ‘hypnotic’.Â
Giles, who played for Leeds over a decade-long spell from the mid-1960s to mid-1970s, transferring from arch-rivals Man United, has been at the centre of many reactions following the club account’s publication of archive footage.
Showcasing Giles at his best, the Irishman, back in 1971 during a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, took the ball under control from outside the penalty area, set himself and fired a looping shot off the post and into the top corner. Reacting to the ‘hypnotic’ footage, many Whites supporters have been hailing the club legend on social media – with one fan, in particular, calling him ‘world-class’.
