Manchester United sacked embattled manager Jose Mourinho earlier this week, ending his reign at Old Trafford after two and a half years. United legend, former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has been named in caretaker charge until the end of the season.
The Portuguese coach led the Red Devils to a League Cup triumph and Europa League glory in his first season charge. However, this season started dreadfully for the club and Mourinho has been sacked with United in sixth place and already 19 points behind leaders Liverpool.

Mourinho spent a huge amount of money in his time at Old Trafford too, but many of his signings have failed to impress. Summer signing Fred is currently little more than a bench-warmer, whilst Alexis Sanchez has also failed to deliver since his arrival from Arsenal in January.
Following his exit, the 55-year-old released a heartfelt statement expressing his pride at having worked for the club.
