Dele Alli’s looping header has given Tottenham the lead at White Hart Lane as they look to break Chelsea’s impressive 13 game winning streak in the Premier League.

The much anticipated game had failed to deliver up until the stroke of half time, with neither side able to muster a shot on target in what was a defensive masterclass from both teams. Into first half stoppage however, Chelsea were caught short at the back, and Christian Eriksen’s fine cross found Dele Alli – who promptly headed home up and over an hapless Thibout Courtois.

The goal was Alli’s sixth in his last four games (well, three and a half) as he continues to prosper in the middle of the park for Spurs alongside Dane Eriksen. All is set up for a classic second forty five, with the Blues desperate to keep their winning run going and in the process break the Premier League record for consecutive wins with an unbelievable 14, but it is advantage Spurs going into the second half.
