Tottenham Hotspur are one of a handful of clubs considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to Transfermarketweb.
What’s the story?
Unsurprisingly, the 22-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from Juventus, Arsenal and Spurs.
The midfielder made 39 appearances in all competitions for PSG last season, scoring four goals and creating five assists.
Despite his positive form on the pitch, Transfermarketweb claims that Rabiot could be available for a bargain €22.5m (£20m).
The Frenchman came through PSG’s academy, eventually making his way into the first team in 2012.
Should Tottenham snap him up?
The North London outfit are not in desperate need for new players this summer, and that would explain the fact that they are yet to bring in a fresh recruit.
The price on offer for Rabiot would be foolish to dismiss, and his ability from the middle of the park would boost what Spurs already have.
Mauricio Pochettino will be keen to launch a serious Premier League title challenge, as well as progress in the Champions League, and in order to do that he needs extra bodies to rotate.
The problem that Spurs could encounter, though, is their unwillingness to pay a big salary for Rabiot, as he is likely to be on an attractive wage at the Parc des Princes.
Tottenham’s highest earners are believed to be Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris, who both pocket in the region of £100,000 per week.
