The Mail on Sunday’s chief sports writer Oliver Holt took to Twitter on Tuesday night with a suggestive claim that Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen is the best creative midfielder in the Premier League, and Spurs fans were quick to react.
The north London outfit looked to be heading for a goalless draw against strugglers Brighton and Hove Albion in their stunning new home before the 27-year-old popped up with a late goal from outside of the penalty area.
The Denmark international now has nine goals and 17 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s men this season, and Holt was clearly impressed with what he saw from the former Ajax man on Tuesday.
He took to his personal social media account to hint that he feels Eriksen is the best creative player in his position in the English top flight, even if he did place a question mark at the end of the statement.
Tottenham supporters wasted little time in replying to the journalist, and the majority of those feel it isn’t the case at all.
